Station itself not ideal on the route to London subway to platform 1 involving steps . Also on leaving the station there is no bus directly out side a trip to whitefriars and the bus station either involves a footbridge with inclines both sides to a bus stop or a walk through a dubious (after dark )park or a bus going the wrong way that takes 25 mins to get back to the bus station for a able bodied person no problem but for the walking wounded or disabled not so good
A very busy station, but no staff available late. At least the electric gate is left open then, which gets closed when staff are available, who wont open it when you ask them to. No other station in the south east has this idiotic system in place. I see it as a footpath, but they dont see it that way. So if you want to use it, borrow a set of crutches. You might get let in!
Great idea putting the ticket machine in a locked booking hall, then advising it cannot be accessed before 6am. In fact it cannot be accessed before 7.30 on a Sunday. The perfect tonic, having already had a wasted journey to Dover station where the machine was broken. No one can accuse South Eastern railways of not living up to their reputation.
Close to the town and have access to the rental services. Better than canterbury west station
Great train station in terms of access with a useful drop off point, just wish they had more trains going via Canterbury East, as most go via Canterbury West.
