It used to be my favourite restaurant in the city. Delicious food and great service. Unfortunately, waiting time is rather disappointing these days.
Always a good safe option as 'something for everyone' menu. Service sometimes a bit slow as always very busy but generally a good choice. Food good, great pies apparently but not my thing so this is third party recommendation
I went with about 25 colleagues for our work Christmas lunch. The service was incredibly slow; it was and hour and three quarters after our booking that we received our main course. At one point, my table was forced to re-order drinks after a half hour wait. The serving staff were standing around chatting for some of this time. My steak was very nice, but my prawn skewers were drenched in a garlic sauce that made the bread soggy. One colleague was given short measure on a glass of wine and told that she was wrong when she pointed it out. Not the best dining experience!
This place is better to be visited during warm months to enjoy the back garden by the river. The restaurant is nicely decorated but they don't have proper music, only a radio. And Drake, for example, really doesn't match the ambience.
The food was good, but wasn't exceptional. The staff was nice and helpful, but seemed at little bit at a loss at times. The location however is lovely, very picturesque and has a lot of character. So definitely a place worth seeing.
