This was the start location for the southern wave of Christian conversation of England. Part of the church is a Roman chapel with later additions. A nice location outside the city but a bit of a walk from the city.A nice contrast to the huge cathedral in the city.
Magnificent site. Delightful welcoming team and an outstanding display of archaeological finds. The virtual reality experience is great fun.A site not to be missed.
If you want to know about the introduction of Christianity to England, this is a site of major importance. It is a pity that English Heritage is a private concern, the entry prices are always high (it is almost essential to take out an annual membership). Places like this ought to be accessible to everyone.
Beautiful cathedral but unfortunately didn't have time to tour inside. For anyone interested its 12.50 per adult or free with a residents pass.
A great place to visit especially on a hot/warm day. There is no parking on site but there is a public car park opposite. It is worth getting the 'guided tour as it gives you a lot more information.
